Stay safe around cranes.
Warn employees, mobile plant drivers and visitors of the potential risk of crane movement and function.
Cranes pose significant risks to your employees and vehicles like forklifts as they move around the plant. Reduce accidents and injury with a SonaSafe® solution that takes into account the complexity of gantry crane operation.
How do SonaSafe® proximity warnings work to enhance crane safety?
Define the safe distance – You set a predetermined safe distance around the crane’s operation. SonaSafe® works with you, your health and safety set up and your traffic management plans.
Sound the alarm – When a person or vehicle gets within the defined distance of a gantry crane, an alarm sounds on the crane and an event is generated.
A warning is sent to the vehicle drive – A SonaSafe® fitted vehicle will also give the message “STOP”, “Crew Near Crane 1” (or another message as requested) to the driver using the SonaSafe® Loudspeaker.
You define the parameters – A different distance from the gantry crane can be set for Mobile Plant and workers wearing a PDU (with a maximum horizontal distance of 12 metres).
Vehicle safety around cranes – The SonaSafe® system can be set to automatically adjust the alarm trigger distance directly proportional to the height of the load if an encoder is fitted to the crane.
Cranes without a load – No load with no alarm will be determined by detecting that the block is less than 50cm from the top stop, that is, the block is fully retracted.
